AccessEd is a non-profit organisation set up by the co-founders of The Brilliant Club, an award-winning and independently-evaluated university access programme that grew out of the UK education system. AccessEd exits to support the growth of new Brilliant Club-style university access programmes globally.

The Team

The primary way we work towards our mission is through supporting social entrepreneurs design and deliver new university access programmes that mobilise the research community. We provide a structured programme of support that equips partner ventures to design a pilot intervention, demonstrate impact and scale up.

Our next expression of interest window for new 2018/19 partners ends 28th November 2018. We also work towards our mission by directly delivering pilot programmes in new countries based on need and feasibility. Under this approach, we intend to kick-start interventions that bring world-class researchers into the classrooms of some of the most underprivileged children in the world.

“The success of The Brilliant Club in the UK is credit to the simple, sustainable and scalable idea to recruit, train and place researchers into schools to deliver excellent enrichment opportunities. Jonathan & Simon's vision and drive means 1 in 10 schools in England now benefit from the subject expertise of a PhD researcher. I am excited to see AccessEd unlock the potential of this model to improve outcomes for young people outside the UK”

Dame Sue John, Chair of Board of Trustees for The Brilliant Club UK
